Windscreen Chip Repair Process

STEP 1 of 3
We clean and prepare the chip
We clean loose glass and dirt out of the chip so the resin can bond properly.
A clean, dry chip gives the best result, which is why an early repair works better than a late one.

STEP 2 of 3
We inject resin into the chip
We fix the repair tool over the chip and inject clear resin under pressure so it fills the damage. The resin is then cured so it hardens and bonds the glass.
The repair restores strength and stops the chip spreading. A faint mark may still be visible afterwards.

STEP 3 of 3
We polish the surface
Once the resin has cured we remove the excess and polish the surface smooth, so the wipers pass over it cleanly.
WHAT WE LOOK AT
Can the Chip Be Repaired?
Not every chip can be repaired. When you send us a photo or call, these are the things we look at.
Size. A chip smaller than a 5 cent coin can usually be repaired.
Type. A clean chip repairs better than damage with long cracks running from it.
Position. Damage directly in the driver's line of sight, or close to the edge of the glass, is more likely to need a new windscreen.
Age. Dirt and moisture work into an old chip and weaken the repair, so act early.
If it has already cracked
