Why Mazda windscreens differ across the range

Mazda windscreens vary by grade and build. Many recent vehicles have an i-Activsense camera behind the mirror, while some also need a rain-sensor fitting, a specific camera bracket, acoustic glass or glass suited to a head-up display. We use your registration or VIN to confirm the part before our technician arrives.

If you are after Mazda windscreen repair, a small chip can often be fixed instead of replacing the glass. We assess the damage and tell you whether repair is suitable.

Before we arrive

Before we fit your Mazda windscreen

We check these four parts of the job before arranging your replacement.

  • Glass variant

We check your Mazda's camera bracket, rain-sensor fitting and any acoustic or solar glass specification.

  • Camera and sensor fitment

We identify the camera and sensors behind your Mazda's mirror and plan ADAS recalibration with the replacement when required.

  • Safety-glazing compliance

We check that the replacement glass meets safety-glazing requirements.

  • Booking details

We confirm your rego or VIN, where your Mazda is and a day and time that suits you.

Mazda models

Mazda models and windscreen equipment

We check your vehicle details before booking because camera, sensor and glass features differ across these Mazda models.

  • Mazda Mazda 2

Recent builds have an i-Activsense camera behind the mirror; earlier builds are usually plain glass.

  • Mazda Mazda 3

The forward camera and rain sensor sit behind the mirror; some grades need glass suited to a head-up display.

  • Mazda CX-3

Most builds have a forward camera behind the mirror, with a rain sensor on higher grades.

  • Mazda CX-30

A forward camera and rain sensor sit behind the mirror; higher grades add a head-up display.

  • Mazda CX-5

Recent builds have a forward camera; some grades also have a rain sensor and head-up display.

  • Mazda CX-8

A forward camera and rain sensor sit behind the mirror, with acoustic glass on higher grades.

  • Mazda CX-9

Most builds have a forward camera and rain sensor behind the mirror.

  • Mazda BT-50

Recent builds share the Isuzu D-Max stereo camera behind the mirror.

  • Another Mazda model?

We confirm the glass for any Mazda from the rego or VIN.

Mazda i-Activsense and ADAS recalibration

Mazda's i-Activsense forward camera sits behind the mirror on many recent vehicles, including the Mazda 3, CX-5 and CX-9. We check your model and build to confirm whether its ADAS camera needs recalibration after windscreen replacement.

Replacing the glass can change the camera's position relative to the road. Recalibration aligns it for the driver-assist systems. Static calibration uses fixed targets; dynamic calibration takes place while the vehicle is driven. We arrange the method your vehicle requires.

We remove any broken glass with care

If a shattered screen has left glass inside your Mazda, our technicians vacuum it out and protect the seats and trim before any work starts.

We remove the damaged windscreen

Modern tools lift the old glass out without damaging paint or interior trim.

If a toll tag is fitted to the old windscreen, we transfer it to the new one.

Technician removing the old rubber seals from a car
STEP 3 of 5

New rubber seals every time

The old seals come off and new ones go on with every replacement, so the new windscreen is sealed against water, dust and wind noise.

Fitted, checked and calibrated

The new windscreen is fitted and checked, and any camera behind the mirror is recalibrated where your Mazda needs it.

All glass we fit complies with the Australian Vehicle Standard for Safety Glazing.

The right replacement glass for your Mazda

For your Mazda, genuine glass is supplied as a Mazda part. OEM-equivalent aftermarket glass is a separate option. We match either choice to the features fitted to your vehicle, such as acoustic glazing or glass suited to a head-up display.

Ask us for genuine Mazda glass when you request a quote, and we can discuss the options for your vehicle. All glass we fit complies with the Australian Vehicle Standard for safety glazing. Our fitting is covered by a lifetime workmanship warranty.
