One pane or two on your Western Star?

Western Star builds bonneted prime movers and heavy rigid trucks. Current cabs have a one-piece windscreen, while earlier cabs can have one piece or two flat panes, depending on the build.

For a Western Star truck windscreen replacement, we use your registration or VIN to confirm the exact glass before our technician sets out. A small chip can often be repaired while the existing windscreen stays in place.

Before we arrive

Our pre-visit checks for Western Star trucks

We check the glass and location details before we come to you.

  • Cab and glass

We identify your truck’s cab and check whether its windscreen is one piece or two flat panes.

  • Recalibration check

We check what is fitted to the windscreen. With plain glass, there is usually nothing to recalibrate.

  • Safety-glazing compliance

We check that the replacement glass meets safety-glazing requirements for your truck.

  • Booking details

We confirm your rego or VIN, where the truck is parked and a day and time that suits your roster.

Recalibration and your Western Star windscreen

Recalibration is not usually part of replacing a Western Star windscreen. Most of these trucks have plain glass with nothing on it to recalibrate. We still check your truck’s build before setting out.

STEP BY STEP

How a Western Star truck windscreen replacement works

Broken glass on a truck seat before clean-up
STEP 1 of 5

We clear any broken glass from the cab

If a shattered screen has left glass inside your Western Star, our technicians vacuum it out and protect the seats and trim before any work starts.

Truck cab with the damaged windscreen removed
STEP 2 of 5

We remove the damaged windscreen

The old glass comes out without damaging the cab's paint or interior trim.

If a toll tag is fitted to the old windscreen, we transfer it to the new one.

Technician removing old rubber seals before fitting new glass
STEP 3 of 5

New rubber seals every time

The old seals come off and new ones go on with every replacement, so the new windscreen is sealed against water, dust and wind noise.

Technician applying urethane before fitting new glass
STEP 4 of 5

The new glass is sealed in

The new windscreen is fitted the way the cab was built for and sealed properly. We tell you when your Western Star is ready to go back on the road.

All glass we fit complies with the Australian Vehicle Standard for Safety Glazing.

Your choice of Western Star replacement glass

The glass we fit to your Western Star must suit its one-piece or two-pane cab layout. Genuine glass is supplied for the make; OEM-equivalent aftermarket glass is another option for the same application. Ask us for genuine glass when you request a quote.

Very friendly, excellent and efficient service, thank you. Josiah was exceptional.
Had the team come out today to remove an old rear windscreen from my (discontinued) 86 merc and fit into another one, very difficult job and fragile but the boys turned up and got it done .
"Booked in the morning, and they came to my home that afternoon. So convenient and professional. The mobile service was a lifesaver!"
