Finding the right windscreen for a UD cab

UD medium and heavy trucks have different cab and windscreen sizes. We use your registration or VIN to identify the glass that fits before our technician sets out.

Some recent UD trucks have a forward camera behind the windscreen, while earlier trucks generally have plain glass. For UD truck windscreen replacement, we account for the camera where fitted. If a chip is small, we can often repair it and keep the existing windscreen.

The details we check for your UD truck

We check the cab, windscreen equipment and booking details before we visit.

  • Cab and glass

We check which UD cab you have and the glass variant it needs, including earlier trucks built under the Nissan Diesel name.

  • Cameras and sensors

We check for the forward camera found behind some recent Quon windscreens and plan recalibration if your truck needs it.

  • Safety-glazing compliance

We check that the replacement glass meets safety-glazing requirements.

  • Booking details

We take your rego or VIN, where the truck is parked, and a day and time that suits your roster.

UD truck models and windscreen details

We check your truck's details before booking so we can prepare for its cab and glass.

  • UD Quon

The tall heavy-duty cab carries a large windscreen that must suit its size.

  • UD Croner

This medium-duty distribution truck needs windscreen glass matched to its cab.

  • UD Condor

This earlier medium-duty truck usually has plain windscreen glass.

  • Another UD truck?

We confirm the glass for any UD truck from the rego or VIN.

A camera behind your UD windscreen

A forward camera behind the windscreen can support lane-departure warning on recent Quon trucks. We check your truck’s build, refit the camera during replacement and plan recalibration if the vehicle needs it.

Earlier UD trucks generally have plain glass with no windscreen camera to recalibrate. We confirm what is fitted before we visit.

STEP BY STEP

How a UD truck windscreen replacement works

Broken glass on a truck seat before clean-up
STEP 1 of 5

We clear any broken glass from the cab

If a shattered screen has left glass inside your UD, our technicians vacuum it out and protect the seats and trim before any work starts.

Truck cab with the damaged windscreen removed
STEP 2 of 5

We remove the damaged windscreen

The old glass comes out without damaging the cab's paint or interior trim.

If a toll tag is fitted to the old windscreen, we transfer it to the new one.

Technician removing old rubber seals before fitting new glass
STEP 3 of 5

New rubber seals every time

The old seals come off and new ones go on with every replacement, so the new windscreen is sealed against water, dust and wind noise.

Technician applying urethane before fitting new glass
STEP 4 of 5

The new glass is sealed in

The new windscreen is fitted the way the cab was built for and sealed properly. We tell you when your UD is ready to go back on the road.

Fitted and checked

The new windscreen is fitted and checked, and any camera on the glass is recalibrated where your UD needs it.

All glass we fit complies with the Australian Vehicle Standard for Safety Glazing.

Selecting replacement glass for your UD cab

UD truck glass needs to suit the cab, from medium-duty trucks to heavy trucks with large windscreens. You can ask us for genuine UD glass, supplied under the truck maker’s brand, or an OEM-equivalent aftermarket option. We’ll discuss the options for your vehicle.

All glass we fit complies with the Australian Vehicle Standard for safety glazing. Our fitting is covered by a lifetime workmanship warranty.
